ObjectiveThe study to clarify the clinical significance and expression of Smac and XIAP in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma.MethodsWe detected Smac and XIAP from 41 cases(31 cases were confirmed to laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma which have no preoperative radiotherapy, chemotherapy and biological treatment and 10 cases were confirmed to normal laryngeal mucosa tissues afer surgery) by using of SP immunohistochemical methods.The results were statistically analyzed by SPSS 17.0 software.one-way analysis of variance and Student's t test were used to compare the expressions of Smac and XIAP in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma as well as their correlation in the occurrence and development of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma by Spearman. As a=0.05 to be standard,there was a statistical significance with P<0.05, there was a significant statistical significance with P<0.01.ResultsThe expression level of Smac in normal tissues and laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was obviously decreased with significant statistical significance(t=14.53,p<0.01).The expression in the two team is 68.75%士7.12% and 24.52%士8.71% .The expression of Smac in positive with the histological grading (F=3.870, p=0.033),but have negative relationship with the sex of patients(t=-0.144, p=0.887),the stage of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (F=1.456,p=0.250) and lynphatic metastasis (t=2.609,p=0.093).The expression level of XIAP in normal tissues and laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma was obviously increased with significant statistical significance (t=18.089,p<0.01).The expression in the two team is 28.17%士13.45% and 66.28%士11.05%.The expression of XIAP in positive with the histological grading (F=4.201,p=0.033),but have negative relationship with the sex of patients(t=-0.144, p=0.887),the stage of laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma (F=1.456,p=0.250) and lynphatic metastasis (t=2.609,p=0.093).There was significant negative correlation between Smac and XIAP in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma(r=-0.65,p<0.01).Conclusion1 Smac and XIAP main part of the positive expression in the cytoplasm, Smac low expression, XIAP is highly expressed in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma is closely related. In this experiment show, Smac and XIAP promoter in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma showed a negative correlation.2 Smac and XIAP were correlated with pathological grade, laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma of the higher degree of malignancy, Smac lower rate of positive expression, XIAP higher the rate of positive expression, which is Smac low Expression, XIAP is highly expressed in laryngeal squamous cell carcinoma is closely related to the degree of malignancy.3 In laryngeal carcinoma, Smac and XIAP have no correlated with sex, tumor growth position and neck lymph node metastasis.
