The Effect Of Shuang Baisan On Improving The Quality Of Life Of Patients With Primary Liver Cancer

[Objective]With NRS score and Quality of Life Scale,to observe the effect of Shuang Baisan on relieving pain and improving the quality of life of patients with primary liver cancer, trying to find a safe, effective, economical and well tolerated assistant medication in cancer pain treating and promote the clinical use of Shuang Baisan.[Methods]45 eligible patients, liver cancer patients with liver or upper abdominal pain,were divided into the treatment group and control group in a double-blind, randomized,controlled study (24 cases in treatment group,21 cases in control group). All patients were received 7 days treatment of Shuang Baisan(in treatment group) or placebo (in control group) by external application. Guided the patients to fill the NRS score and《Quality of Life in patients with liver cancer QOL-LC V2.0》, made an analysis of the score changes of NRS and quality of life after the treatment,then evaluated the effect of Shuang Baisan on relieving pain and improving the quality of life of patients with primary liver cancer.[Results]After the treatment, NRS scores decreased significantly in the treatment group, compared with the scores of the control group in the corresponding time points.The difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). The results suggested that the curative effect of the treatment group was significantly better than the control group, and the best effect was in the first hour after the start of the treatment.NRS scores in the treatment group decreased more significantly than the control group.And with the treatment time, a downward trend in the treatment group was inconsistent with the control group, which suggested that Shuang Baisan had a persistent effect in relieving pain.After the treatment,the result in the quality of life showed that patients in the treatment group had a better living quality in physical function, psychological function and symptoms (including liver pain, gastrointestinal discomfort, diarrhea, dizziness and weight loss) than in the control group. The scores of the two groups in social function had no significant difference (P>0.05),which suggested that the improvements of the treatment group in social function was not obvious.After the treatment, neither hepatic nor renal impairments were seen.There was no obvious toxicity in hematopoietic system and heart. General physical examination showed no obvious abnormality. All patients enrolled were not found in adverse reactions during the research.[Conclusion]Shuang Baisan had better effect in relieving pain with primary liver cancer.Also,it could obviously improve the quality of life of the patients,from the aspect of physical to mental,such as the relief from the symptoms of abdominal distention, diarrhea, anorexia, nausea, dizziness and so on. It had less side effect and simple,which would be a safe,effective and economical assistant medication for liver cancer pain.
