Clinical Research About Patients With Bell's Palsy Of Wind-Cold Pattern Treated By Mr. Chen's Flying Needle

ObjectivesDiscussing the curative effect of Mr. Chen's Flying Needle on Bell's palsy of Wind-cold pattern.Method50 patients are divided into the treatment group and control group each 25 examples. The treatment group uses Mr. Chen's Flying needle method, the control group uses the traditional acupuncture method. The latency of R1-wave in blink reflex(BR) and the percentage of the amplitude loss in electroneurography (ENOG) were performed before and after the treatment in the patients with facial palsy.Result1. General information on pre-treatment compared to two groups of gender, age and affected side compared(P> 0.05), difference was not statistically significant.2. The statistic analysis revealed that the total effective rate of the treatment group is 95.8%, while the control group is 91.3%. There was no significant difference between them(P> 0.05). The cure rate of the treatment group is 87.5%, while the control group is 69.6%.There was significant difference between them(P< 0.05).It revealed that Mr. Chen's Flying needle method is more efective than the traditional acupuncture method.3. Before and after the treatment, there were very significant differences in the treatment group about the latency of R1-wave in BR(P<0.01), while the control group has significant differences (P<0.05). After the treatment, there were significant differences in between the two groups (P<0.05). Both groups can significantly shorter latency of R1-wave in BR, but the treatment group was better. 4. Before and after the treatment, there were very significant differences in the treatment group about the percentage of the amplitude loss in the orbicularis ocull and orbicularis oris(P<0.01), while the control group only has very significant differences in the orbicularis ocull(P<0.01), and no significant differences in orbicularis oris(P> 0.05). After the treatment, there were significant differences in orbicularis oris between the two groups (P<0.05), but no difference in orbicularis ocull(P> 0.05). Both groups can reduce the percentage of the amplitude loss, but the treatment group was better.Conclusion1. Mr. Chen's Flying needle is an effective way to treat Bell's palsy of Wind-cold pattern, which can statistically improve the signs and symptoms of face, effectively relieve the patients'pain,and improve facial nerve function.2. ENOG and BR can objectively reflect the degree of facial nerve's injury and the efficacy of prognosis, which is worth to be applied in clinical.
