Objective:To observe the effect of acupuncturing Hegu(LI4) and Taichong(LR3) on the Blink Reflex in Intranuclear Facial Palsy, to further provide the basis for better clinical acupoint selection.Methods:50patients were chosen and randomly divided into the treatment group (acupuncturing Hegu(LI4) and Taichong(LR3))and the control group (non-needling acupuncturing taichong (LR3))with25cases respectively. Taking the Blink Reflex and House Brackman (H-B) facial nerve function grading system for assessing the efficacy, observed the condition changes from acupuncturing the6th、12th、18th、24th.Results:The R1waves’latency time of the treatment group and the control group were10.3±0.8ms and10.0±1.2ms. The R1waves’occurrence rate of the treatment group and the control group showed no significant difference in different course of treatment. The total effective rate of the treatment group and the control group rate were100%and100%.The markedly effective rates of two groups were96.4%and96.5%respectively.The cure rates of both groups were85.7%and86.2%respectively.The comparison between the treatment group and the control group showed no significant difference(P>0.05).Conclusion:There is the same effect between acupuncture and non-needle acupuncture hegu(LI4) and taichong(LR3) in the treatment of idiopathic facial palsy suggesting that only acupuncture facial and upper limb acupoints can achieve good curative effect.
