| Objective: To analyze the latency, amplitude and the area of blink reflex (BR) in idiopathic blepharospasm patients, in order to approach the etiology and probable mechanism of idiopathic blepharospasm onsets.Method; Operate the BR on 12 idiopathic blepharospasm patients in different courses of disease, and record the latency, amplitude and area of the components of R1,R2 and R2'in blink reflex. Thus, compare the statistics with those of control group and hemi-facial spasm patients to draw a comclusion.Result: 12 idiopathic blepharospasm patients present longer mean latencies in components of R1 and R2 in BR compared with control group (P<0.05 ) ,and the blepharospasm group also made a lower amplitude than control group ( P<0.01 ) .As a result the area below the amplitude is also smaller (P<0.01 ) .Meanwhile, there is no significant differences between the latencies in control group and hemi-facial spasm group. However, the amplitude and the area in hemi-facial spasm group are lower and smaller than the control ( P<0.05 ) ,which has no coincidence with the R2', it shows no significant differences between the two groups. Conclusion: Both the afferent input of trigeminal nerve and brain stem transduction disorder was observed in blepharospasm patients. |
