The pathogenesis of Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Tang, which is commonly acknowledged in modern literature, also is "hot bile and cold spleen". As a result, its treatment in the modern variety of clinical syndromes proves to have better effect for its better combination with the patients'physiques. Being from "Febrile Diseases", Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Tang is composed of 7 herbal medicine, namely, Bupleurum, Guizhi, Ginger, Trichosanthes root (TCS), Oysters, Scutellaria, and Zhigancao. It is a class side of Xiao ChaiHu Tang and has a lot of clinical application. However, there are only two parts in the "Febrile Diseases" mentioning this Prescription and customarily omissions in the ancient Chinese language, the descripiton of this prescripiton is not in detail and the mastery of its essence is not in easy, all makes it difficult to achieve proficiency in clinical usage and makes it necessary to further study its syndromes and treatment regularity and describe it in modern standardized language so as to better serve the clinic.MethodsThis paper uses the study of modern clinical cases as the foundation, clinical efficacy as the criterion, the Treatment of norms as a guide, screening 100 cases which meet the standards of Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Tang from a variety of medical journals published in the last 31years and collecting information of the medical records Sources, the patient's sex, age, seasonal incidence, etiology, disease course, the Western name of disease, symptoms, tongue and pulse, drug name, dosage and so on. After the regulation of the data, the establishment of relevant databases, the application of frequency statistical analysis, golden section method and keywords statistical analysis, the author selects and marks off the scope of application, symptoms diagnosis indicators, drug addition and subtraction Law and disease spectrum in both Chinese and western medicine of Chaihu Guizhi Ganjiang Tang.
