As people living standard rise, the interior decoration is frequent, cause indoor air pollution is more and more serious.Formaldehyde, Our indoor primary pollutants, which poison human's health increasingly attracted people's attention. June 15,2004, the world health organization (WHO) affiliate international cancer institute (IARC) according to "formaldehyde can cause human nasopharyngeal carcinoma" this conclusion, will be for human carcinogen formaldehyde classification. The end of 2006, the world health organization to clearly shows that formaldehyde is human carcinogen, cited 40 years 796 references, sure pointed out:formaldehyde is human carcinogen (Al group). But the relationship between leukemia and formaldehyde has not enough evidence, in order that, correlation is academic research hotspot..Leukemia cells is malignant neoplasms of hematopoietic system. The exact pathogeny of leukemia so far less clear. Many factors were considered as the onset of leukemia, such as viruses, about the genetic factors, environmental factors such as toxic chemical and drugs. Whether about formaldehyde exposed with leukemia, many scholars at home and abroad study about mainly from the following two aspects:one is the study of epidemiological methods; The second is with molecular toxicology method study. With Henry dA, as a representative of the scholars don't think that there is a correlation with leukemia formaldehyde. Also some scholars think formaldehyde can lead to leukemia, and put forward the concept of formaldehyde combination state. Already some research results, however, is not sufficient to prove whether correlation with leukemia and formaldehyde.In order to accumulate data support to the research about formaldehyde can lead to leukemia. In my research, SPF-class Kun-Ming male mice were used to be exposed to gaseous formaldehyde in different concentrations:0.5 mg/m3,1.0 mg/m3 and 3.0 mg/m3. After 72 hours continuous dynamic inhalation, comet assay and adding protease K methods were used to observe DNA breakage and DNA-protein cross-linking situation of peripheral blood leukocytes, using flow cytometry analysis cells from mouse bone marrow cells, cell cycle changes, and testing Nucleostemin of gene expression in bone marrow cells. The results show that:formaldehyde exposure can cause DNA damage peripheral leucocytes- DNA fracture and DNA-protein crosslink, but no dose relationship effect; Formaldehyde exposed have influence to the bone marrow cells in cell cycle. Finally, different formaldehyde concentration, expression of NS gene in bone marrow cells is also significant changes, and with the cell cycle changes have relevance, which can speculate the cell cycle changes is through relevant genetic differences expressing by formaldehyde exposure. Conclusion: formaldehyde exposure on mice have obvious hematopoietic system of toxic effects.
