Objective: To evaluate the cost-effectiveness of three therapies for Helicobacter pylori(Hp)associated duodenal ulcer. Methods: 150 DU patients with Hp infection of the Department of Gastroenterology of the People's hospital of Xin Jiang Uygur Autonomous Region, diagnosed by gastroscope and 14C-UBT from June of 2009 to December of 2010. They were randomly divided into 3 groups:Group A was assigned to receive Esomeprazole (40mg, qd), Group B to receive Pantoprazole(40mg, bid)and Group C to receive Lansoprazole (15mg, bid),.3groups all added with Amoxicillin(1.0g,bid)and clarithromycin(0.5g,bid). the course of treatment was 1wk. then, Group A continue to receive Esomeprazole (40mg, qd)for 3wks, Group B continue to receive Pantoprazole(40mg, bid) for 3wks and GroupC continue to receive Lansoprazole(15mg, bid) for 3wks.3 Groups did not received other drugs during the therapy. After 4wks of withdrawal, they were reviewed by gastroscope and 14C-UBT, then the cost-effectiveness analysis was conducted on the three regimes. Result: The costs for the 3 regimes were 2274.20 yuan,2175.80 yuan and 1972.10 yuan, respectively. the Hp eradication rates of 3 groups were 94%,90%,84%, respectively. The DU healing rates were 92%,90%,86%, respectively. The increatmental cost-effectiveness ratios of Group A and B on the aspect of Hp eradication were 30.21,33.95, the increatmental cost-effectiveness ratios of Group A and B on the aspect of DU healing were 50.35,50.93, respectively as against Group C. Conlusion: Lansoprazole+Amoxicillin+clarithromycin is more economical and reasonable.
