The Effection Was Compared Between Warm-needle Moxibustion And Electr O-acupuncture Therapy On Knee Osteoarthritis

Objective:The effection was compared between Warm-needle Moxibustion and Electr o-acupuncture therapy on knee osteoarthritis.Methods:The method is prospective cohort studying:60 patients in the 100 cases of clinical knee osteoarthritis that were collected which metted criteria were divided into warm-acupuncture group and EA group.30 cases treated by warm acupuncture,and control group of 30 patients, the use of EA acupuncture therapy for treatment. The main indexs are joint pain index (VAS assessment) and osteoarthritis index (WOMAC score).After treatment, the symptoms of the two groups were respectively compared and the comparison between the two groups. After three months of the end of treatment,the patient's VAS, satisfaction self-evaluation to improve treatment were statisticsed and analysised.Results:The statistical analysis of the observation of the general indicators:patient gender, age, and baseline of VAS, joint stiffness, daily life, social activities, emotional-state, etc were no differences (p> 0.05) between the two instructions comparability. After end of the treatment, VAS score (points,x±s):the group of Warm Needle Mox ibustion:before treatment:7.45±1.27; After treatment:After two weeks:4.10±1.90. Difference:3.10±1.70. After four weeks:2.50±1.60. Difference:4.80±1.60. EA Group:before treatment:6.37±1.66; After treatment:After two weeks:4.80±1.80, Difference:1.60±1.40; After four weeks:3.70±1.60, Difference:2.70±1.60. The comparison of VAS between two groups(p<0.05). WOMAC osteoarthritis score (points,x±s):the group of Warm Needle Moxibustion:before treatment:64.57±26.70, after treatment: After two weeks:28.25±18.80, Difference:29.3±15.83; After four weeks:15.01±16.58, Difference:43.38±18.05. EA:berore treatment:52.77±25.96, after treatment:After two weeks:39.43±21.93, Difference:13.33±9.26; After four weeks: 30.03±19.89, Difference:22.73±13.33. The efficacy of WOMAC scores of Warm Needle Moxibustion is better than the EA group. In the course of treatment or after treatment, MA group was significantly better than the EA group in self-assessment and satisfaction. (Results P<0.05) The warm-acupuncture can Significant improvement the the pain of knee osteoarthritis and improve their qualityof life of patients. The patients of warm acupuncture group is better than EA in improving the degree of self-evaluation of efficacy.Conclusion:The Warm Needle Moxibustion group haved a better clinical efficacy than the EA group。The two treatment methods haved no halo-pin, needle, infection bleed ing in the process of treatment. But the two groups of treatment of knee osteoarthritis have no differences in long-term efficacy.The differences of long-term efficacy remain-s to be conducted was needed large sample further confirmed.
