Background:Hyperlipidemia is a physiological feature of normal pregnancy. In order to meet the needs of fetal growth, serum lipids concentrations in pregnancy was significantly higher than the non-pregnant. Lipids testing are an important part of prenatal care, timely and reasonable examination could find early signs of diseases. Enable the fast introduction of medical intervention to help the improvement of pregnancy outcome. Existing prenatal diagnosis in neonatal screening for congenital disease has made great progress, improving the quality of birth. At present, we have observed the changes of serum lipids in pregnancy complicate with medical disorders and pregnancy specific diseases, following by some new advances in lipids researches, such as the emergence of lipid peroxidation, the imbalance of antioxidant system, all these have endowed the observation new meaning. Lipoprotein (a), low density lipoprotein cholesterol play an important role in atherosclerosis of cardiovascular disease. The oxidized LDL-c that is oxidized low-density lipoprotein. correlating with atherosclerotic vascular endothelial damage more closely. Elevated serum ox-ldl affect the balance of oxidation and antioxidant balance. Previous studies have suggested that the imbalance of serum lipid peroxide and antioxidant factors contributed to the initiation and development of vascular endothelial injury. Acute form of atherosclerosis changes leads to placental insufficiency, further compromise intrauterine fetal growth. Prior to obvious clinical symptom, the imbalance of oxidantive and antioxidant and peroxidation have been associated with subclinical injury in mother and placental. In this study, by tracking pregnant women in middle-late gestation, we want to find the variation of serum lipids and peroxidation, and the lipids profile in umbilical cord blood. We want to set a scientific basis for lipids detecting and disease prediction. Objective:To study the changes profile of serum lipids,ox-ldl during middle-late pregnant women and newborn umbilical cord blood.Method:We selected 50 cases of normal pregnancy as subjects, from October 2009 to May 2010. Blood samples were taken at 5 different periods, and we also collected cord blood after the baby was born. The ELISA method was used to determine serous lipid indices.Result:Means of maternal serum TC,TG,HDL-c,LDL-c increased significantly comparing with controls. Mean of Lp(a) elevated significantly at the 37th week in pregnancy; T-AOC reached a significantly high level in cord blood before delivery. Mean of maternal serum Ox-ldl in middle-late gestation was significantly higher, with a narrow fluctuation. Comparing with controls, the value of TC,HDL-c,LDL-c,Lp(a) decrease dramatically in umbilical blood except TG. On the contrary, H/L and T-AOC remarkably rises comparing with normal adults. Conclusion:Maternal serum lipid peroxide and antioxidant capacity were at a high level during middle-late gestation. They were obviously higher than controls. The serum lipid indices in neonatal differed very much from the adults, possessing a shadow of low fat and high antioxidant capacity.
