Background and Aims:Through analyzing the results of 24-Hour double-probe esophageal pH monitoring of reflux esophagitis patients.definite the acid reflux condition of proximal and distal esophageal of RE patients, and to provide scientific basis for clinical treatment.Materials and Methods:Retrospectively analyzed 40 cases with typical sumptoms such as heartburn that had 24-Hour double-probe esophageal pH monitoring in the gastrointestinal function room of our hospital between December 2007 and February 2011, of which 20 cases were diagnosed as RE and 20 cases as NERD by gastroscopy.40 cases all had taken 24-Hour double-probe esophageal pH monitoring. Compared the monitoring results by gender, age and severity.meanwhile compared pH monitoring results of NERD group with RE group's.Results:In the 20 cases of RE patients.12 cases were diagnosed as level A(60%).3 cases as level B (15%),4 cases as level C (20%) and 1 case as level D(5%). There were 2 cases (10%) only existing proximal esophageal pathology acid reflux. There were 5 cases (25%) only existing distal esophageal pathology acid reflux. There were 5 cases (25%) existing proximal and distal esophageal pathology acid reflux. There were 8 cases (40%) with no esophageal pathology acid reflux. There were differences of pH< 4 regurgitation events, erect reflux time and DeMeester integral between proximal and distal esophageal acid reflux of the 20 RE patients(P<0.05). There were no differences of proximal esophageal acid reflux between RE group and NERD group (P>0.05) meanwhile having differences of proximal esophageal acid reflux (P<0.05).In the 20 RE patients, there were no differences of acid reflux between different genders and different severity (P>0.05). Between different age groups, proximal and distal acid ruflux had significant differences (P<0.05)Conclusions:RE patients had proximal and distal esophageal acid reflux, mainly the distal esophageal acid reflux. There were no differences of proximal esophageal acid reflux between RE group and NERD group, meanwhile distal esophageal acid reflux had significant differences. There were no differences of acid reflux between different genders and different severity. Between different age groups, proximal and distal acid ruflux had significant differences.
