Food safety is an important work as part of public health. However, as emergence of the frequent food safety problems in recent years, food safety issues have been subject to the close attention of governments and consumers. Dairy products are particularly prominent because of the special nature of the product and the susceptibility of consumer groups. Food safety is a problem of domestic and imported dairy products in the rapidly expanding Chinese market.Objective:In this research, we aimed to study the trends of food safety issues of imported dairy in Shanghai Port and establish rationalization proposals and theoretical basis for future administration and inspection.Methods:We have sampled and tested imported dairy products of Shanghai Port from 2008 to 2010, including chemical, microbiological and other indicators of nutrition. We found the main food security issues based on the data of test results. Analysis of major trends in food safety issues and reason. Discuss the reasons for the changes involved changes in the corresponding regulatory measures.Results:In this study, we found the main issues of imported dairy products in Shanghai por after three years of sample monitoring, data collection and result analysis.1) The failure rate of U.S. and European imports of dairy products,was higher than other countries and regions; 2) In various types of imported dairy products, the failure rate of whey powder was the highest; 3)conclusion after the comparison of imported dairy products in the categories of importer, whey of U.S. and cheese of EU, failure rate is higher than other parts of other types of dairy products imported; 4) Results of failure:â‘ The failure rate of whey protein content was high in 2008;â‘¡The failure rate of benzoyl peroxide in whey was high in the first four months in 2009 and 2010;â‘¢ailure rate of microbial indicators of cheese was high, especially in 2010, fungal yeast of cheese reached a failure rate of 8.22%;â‘£In 2008 and 2009, the failure rate of E. sakazakii was high.Conclusion:Shanghai Port imported dairy products as the main food safety issues, in Which the United States and the European Union cheese whey is a major problem products, need to be given more attention. Methods of risk assessment used in regulatory measures decision in the imports of dairy products were feasible and effective. Risk assessment can be further applied to other imported food supervision in future.
