ObjectsTo study the effect of european vebena on body weight tumor growth and spleen index's functions of tumor-bearing H22 mice. Further,to study the effect of water extraction from european vebena and plus chemotherapy on the tumor inhibitory and immune organ, humoral immunity, cell immunity etc.MethodsOne part the mice with H22 were divided into control and cisplatin groups,Other were given extraction of european vebena by gavage. The weight, tumor weight, spleen weight were measured. Two part according to above-mentioned,The mice with H22 were divided into control and cisplatin groups, Other were given water extraction of european vebena plus chemotherapy.Body weight, tumor weight, spleen weight,DHT,HA,IL-2 and spleen generation were measured.ResultsThe results showed that both the water-extraction and the alcohol-extraction of european vebena inhibited the growth of the tumor. The rats of tumor-inhibition were 40.3% and 32.5% respectively in the experimental groups and the controls. The growth of weight and spleen weight in both group of water-extraction and alcohol-extraction declined. Water extract from european vebena plus chemotherapy inhibited the growth of the tumor. The rats of tumor-inhibition were 44.8%. The spleen index, DHT and HA,IL-2 and spleen generation were lower in mice after treatment with water extract from european vebena plus chemotherapy than in control and cisplation groups.ConclusionBoth the water-extraction and the alcohol-extraction of european vebena can inhibit tumor growth and reduce body weight, The water-extraction does not impair the immunological function of tumor-bearing H22 mice. The immunological function is remarkably impaired when the extract is used in combination with chemotherapy.
