Object:To investigate the distribution of types of human papillomavirus(HPV) in women fromYao ethnic minority group in Northern Guangdong and the difference of HPV infection indifferent age group and the relationship between HPV and vervical diseases, to provide animportant molecular epidemiology basis of the introduction of development of HPV vaccine. Methods: 231 women with age between 20 and 69 were selected in cluster stratified samplingfrom Yao ethnic minority group in Northern Guangdong and after consent, received apopulation-based cervical cancer screening. Then every woman was detected and genotypedHPV DNA by Gene Chip which can detect 23 types HPVs 18 HR HPVs(HPV16, 18, 31, 33, 35,39, 45, 51, 52, 53, 56, 58, 59, 66, 68, 73, 83, MM4) and 5 LR HPVs(HPV6, 11, 42, 43, 44) once.SPSS 13.0 was used to analysis the data withχ2 test. Results: 1.Totally 231 women were detected by Gene Chip. The total infection rate of HPV was14.7%. The most common infection among the HPV types was HPV43, its positive rate was24.67%. The positive rate of HPV16 was 23.53%,among the high risk HPV indicating it was themost common infection. Other high risk HPV infection rates were ranked from high to low:HPV52,HPV58,HPV66. HPV43 was the most common infection among the low risk HPVtypes. Other low risk HPV infection rates were ranked from high to low: HPV42,HPV6,HPV11.2.The multiple infection rate was 20.6%, dominated by double infection of multiple infections, mainly in combination with other types was HPV16 infection. 3. There was not significantdifference (P>0.05) in different age group of HPV infection. 4. The prevalence rate of high-gradecervical intraepithelial neoplasia was 1.3%.Conclusion: 1. HPV43 is the most common type in the study population. The next mostcommon types of HPV were HPV16, HPV52, HPV58 in rank. The study population had therelatively higher risk of suffering HPV43 infection indicating the specificity of HPV infection inYao ethnic minority group in Northern Guangdong. 2. There was not difference among the different age group of HPV infection. The most common infection age group was age over 50years which suggested necessary of screening in older women. 3. High risk HPV infection wasthe most common HPV types among single infections, which was the main infection in Yaoethnic minority group.
