Objective: To prove the relationship of HPV infection with cervical diseases and to know infection rate and the main genotypes distribution characteristic of high-risk Human papillomavirus(HPV) in the woman with cervical disease in Xinjiang province. Methods: The genotypes of the 358 specimens of liquid based cytology (LBC) were detected by flow-through hybridization, and compared with that of pathological cytological diagnosis. The five group were divided as pathological cytological diagnosis: negative for intraepithelial lesion or malignancy (NILM),atypical squamous cell(ASC),low-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(LSIL),high-grade squamous intraepithelial lesion(HSIL),squamous cell carcinoma(SCC). Analyses the main genotypes distribution characteristic of high-risk Human papillomavirus(HPV). Judge infection rate in the different grade groups. Results: The total infection rate of Human papillomavirus(HPV) was 41.3 % (148/358), the infection rate of Human papillomavirus (HPV) was 81.0% (47/58) in Uyghur female patients, while 33.7% (101/300) in Han female patients. The differences between them have statistical significance(χ~2=43.0, P=0.00). The Human papillomavirus (HPV) positive rate in the groups of NILM,ASC,LSIL,HSIL,SCC was 31.1%,51.9%,90.9%,100.0%,100.0% respectively. The differences among them have statistical significance (χ~2=30.9, P=0.00). The top six prevalence of the Human papillomavirus(HPV) types were following: 16, 58, 52, 39, 18, 31, which infection rate was 35.1%,13.5%,12.2%,12.2%,9.5%,6.8%, respectively. In NILM group the infection rate of Human papillomavirus (HPV) was 45.7% (16/35) in Uyghur female patients, while 22.8% (66/229) in Han female patients. The differences between them have statistical significance(χ~2=4.04, P=0.04). Conclusion: High risk type human papillomaviral infection is closed correlated to cervical diseases, which is the main factor of cervical cancer. Genotypes distribution of Human papillomavirus (HPV) varied from different regions. The infection rate of Human papillomavirus (HPV) in NILM group in Xinjiang province is higher than that of other area.
