[Objective ]To study the therapeutic effect of microsurgical longitudinal 2-stuture intussusception vasoepididymostomy (MLIVES) for the treatment of epididymal obstructive azoospermia(EOA).[Methods]We retrospectively analyed date from 40 patients with EOA between January 2007 and december 2009 in my hospital . A total of 20 patients were underwent MLIVES (group A), the other 20 patients were underwent microsurgical end– to–side vasoepididymostomy (group B). Chi-square contingency table analysis of the SPSS 13.0 was performed to compare the patency rate , postoperative sperm granuloma rate and pregnancy rate of their spouse of group A and group B.[Results]The patency rate of group A was 70%(14/20) and group B was 35%(7/20) ,there were significant diferences between two groups (X2 =4.91 , P<0.05). The sperm granuloma rate of group A was 15%(3/20) and group B was 50%(10/20), there were significant diferences between two groups (X2 =5.58 , P<0.05).The sperm granuloma rate of group A was 40%(8/20) and group B was 10%(2/20), there were significant diferences between two groups (X2 =4.80 , P<0.05).[Conclusion]MLIVES for the treament of EOA is a simple, time—saving and effective surgical technique which can improve the patency rate and their spouse of pregnancy rate and cut down the sperm granuloma rate.
