Comparison Of Current Situation Of Dust Control Measures Between Coal Mine And Gold Mine

Objectives To know the nature of the status of dust control measures in two companies, in order to investigate and improve the preventive and control measures, to control the occurrence and development of pneumoconiosis .Methods1 Two companies were chosen with cross-sectional study, one of Taiyuan of Shanxi coal mine, non-coal enterprises in Hebei Jinchangyu gold mine. Collect the mines'basic data, history,information of dust control, case history folder.2 154 workers exposed to dust, 12 dust control engineers, 6 dust monitoring personal were interviewed by questionnaire and in-depth interviews. Through individual in-depth interviews and questionnaires related to staff analysis, the two companies looking for the existence of pneumoconiosis control, the control of the proposals and measures of pneumoconiosis. Quantitative data was set up to use the database Epidata3.0 ,and statistical analysis was made by SAS software package.Results1 Qualitative research1.1 Engineering and technical personnel point out thatâ‘ funds generally are not very filling;â‘¡not enough attention to the hazards of dust control;â‘¢professional and occupational training opportunities are few both for workers and medical personal.1.2 Dust Detect staff point out that first problem is the lack of professional knowledge, expertise limited training opportunities, and country standards are not very clear. Another problem is aging equipment and low efficiency. 2.1 The awareness of the nature of the situation for dust control is different between the two mines among workers. only 5.82% of them in coal mine said they know the hazard to health of dust exposure, while 47.06 percent reported know in gold mine.2.2 The utilization rate of personal protective equipment were 76.7 percent and 58.86 percent in coal mine and gold mine, repectively. Also the use of that was better in coal mine than that in gold mine, the utilization rates are not high in both of the two mines, low sense of personal protection are the major reason for its non-use.2.3 The use of dust control facilities exist obvious differences between the two mines, the survey also found that there are not functioning, the reasons are because of illegal operation of the workers. 2.4 Business-to-dust control attention needs to be raised, dust-awareness training for workers is also in need of improvement.Conclusions1 There are still some questions on the prevention and control of the pneumoconiosis, the proportion of awareness is high in recognition of the dust danger among workers, but less knowledge on the nation's policy for prevention of pneumoconiosis, the percentage of occupational health surveillance is low, the prevention material's using percentage is low too, there are not adequate funds for professional occupational disease agency.2 The quality needs improvement for dust monitoring, engineering and technical personnel and expertise. The dust-proof equipment is always very difficult to operate normally.Suggestion Recommendations1 To strengthen the institution, implementation and control policy which made by local and central governments, and to raise the recognition of pneumoconiosis control, in order to make the item with enough money and finally control pneumoconiosis. To made good coordination and corporation among all sections pneumoconiosis control, and all the pneumoconiosis prevention progress continuity, and the management2 Quantitative Research procedure systematic, to ensure the nation and the local government policy enforce successfully.2 The standard and regulation is need for the establish of the agency for occupational disease control, to identify it's position and relegation, according to the occupational disease prevention law, and to provide enough professional technologist.3 Long-term stable health education and promotion planning should be done on time among the workers, and to provide the medical personal with more opportunity for professional training.4 To set up the rules and regulations of personal protective articles, and execute it successfully, and to raise the preventive knowledge for all workers, to apply comfortable, high performance and economic personal protective articles to raise the usage of it.
