Clinical Observation Of Qian Lian Decoction In The Treatment Of Ⅲ Prostatitis

Object:To observe the effect of blood-activating and stasis-revolving herbal medicine in treatment of patients with prostatitis. To prove that traditional Chinese medicine are effective on such kinds of diseases.Method:120 cases of qualified patients who were suffered from prostatitis were selected and treated by the blood-activating and stasis-revolving herbal medicine, which were formed of Danshen, Zelan, Taoren, Honghua, Chishao, Wangbuliuxing, Chuanlianzi, Baijiangcao, Pugongying, Chaihua, Huangqin and so on, called Qianliexian Tang. The herbal medicine above were boiled and given to the patients for oral use. The course of treatment lasted for 4 weeks, as 2 weeks were considered to be one course. During the stage of therapy, antibiotics or any other drugs were forbidden.One week before treatment and four weeks after treatment, the prostate symptom scores, pain, urinary symptoms, qualities of lives and the changes in EPS were evaluated respectively.5 weeks later, until the end of the trail, the differences before and after the treatment were compared, the changes and statistical significances were analyzed. The clinical effect were divided into IV Class. NIH-CPSI scores reduced by more than 95%, pain and urinary symptoms disappeared, qualities of lives improved to normal or near normal and EPS test changed into normal more than twice were considered to be clinically healed. NIH-CPSI scores reduced by more than 60%, pain, urinary symptoms and the qualities of lives improved obviously, the WBC numbers of the EPS test reduced more than 60% were considered to be improved markedly. NIH-CPSI scores reducted more than 30%, pain, urinary symptoms and the qualities of lives improved to some extent, the WBC numbers of the EPS test reduced more than 30% were considered to be improved effectively. NIH-CPSI scores reduced less than 30% or no change, pain, urinary symptoms and the qualities of lives were without improvement, the WBC numbers of the EPS test reduced less than 30% or no change were considered to be useless. The effective rate= the total number of those who were healed+ those improved markedly +those improved effectively/ the cases that were collected×100%.Result:1.The NIH-CPSI scores of the patients had greatly changed after treatment. The statistical analysis was of significantly difference (p<0.01).2. The WBC numbers of the EPS test had changed after treatment. The statistical analysis was of significantly difference (p<0.01).3. The pain, urinary symptoms and the qualities of lives were improved extremely after treatment. The statistical analysis was of significantly difference (p<0.01).Conclusion:1. Traditional Chinese medicine are effective in treating urologic and male genital diseases, which are of great advantages.2. The blood-activating and stasis-revolving herbal medicine can treat patients with prostatitis of qi stagnancy and blood stasis type usefully, as well as promote the recovery of prostatic function.3. The blood-activating and stasis-revolving method can lessen the feeling of pain and urinary symptoms, improve the qualities of the lives.4. The NIH-CPSI scores are closely related to the improvement of the symptoms.5. The reduction of the WBC numbers of the EPS test and the improvement of the symptoms have some relevance.6. The Qianliexian Tang is a useful formula to treat prostatitis.
