| Objective To investigate the expression of integrin linked kinase (ILK) and Protein kinase B.(PKB) in human brain tissues and glioma and to analyze their clinical pathological significance.Methods According to WHO's tumor classification of central nervous system in 2000,a total of 51cases of glioma and 8 cases normal brain tissue were used to detect the expression of integrin linked kinase and protein kinaseB by immunohistochemical streptavidin-perosidase (SP) method,including 5 cases pilocytic astrocytoma(WHO grade I),5 cases astrocytoma and 7 cases oligodendroglioma(WHO gradeâ…¡),8 cases malignant astrocytoma and 9 cases maglinant oligodendroglioma (WHO gradeâ…¢),6 cases glioblastoma and 11 cases medulloblastoma (WHO grade IV).Results 1.ILK protein is negative expression in normal brain tissues,expressed in different grade glioma sample.With the increasing of glioma malignant level,the positive expression rate of ILK also increased.The positive rate was 35.29%,76.47% and 94.12% respectively. The positive expression rate of ILK was significant difference (P<0.05) among the WHO gradeâ… -â…¡,WHO gradeâ…¢and WHO grade IV glioma tissues.2.PKB protein is negative expression in normal brain tissues,express in different grade glioma sample.With the increasing of glioma malignant level,the positive expression rate of PKB also increased.The positive rate was 29.41%,82.35% and 94.12% respectively. The positive expression rate of PKB was significant difference (P<0.05) among the WHO gradeâ… -â…¡,WHO grade III and WHO gradeâ…£glioma tissues.3.The expression rate of ILK correlated well with PKB level (r=0.91,P<0.05),with the increasing of expression of ILK the expression of PKB also increased.Conclusion The expression of ILK and PKB correlate with the clinical pathological grade, probably promotes the oncogenesis and progression of human gliomas,The combined detection of ILK and PKB proteins has important significiance for precdic-tion of the tumor development and prognosis. |
