Objective:To investigate the relationship between mannose-binding lectin (MBL) concentration, gene polymorphism and the susceptivity of recurrent bacterial vaginosis(rBV).Methods:The cervicovaginal lavage was collected from 37 rBV outpatients and 30 normal subjects. The levels of MBL were determined by using ELISA and the MBL exon I codon 54 gene polymorphisms was performed on polymerase chain reaction-restriction fragment length polymorphism (PCR-RFLP).Results:The concentration of MBL of rBV group was 3.28±2.08 ng/ml,and the control group was 4.72±2.69ng/ml,There was a significant difference between the two group (P<0.05),MBL gene mutation frequency in rBV group was significant higher than that in control group,The odds ratios (OR) and 95%confidence intervals (CI) were 1.30(1.04-1.62).MBL exon I codon 54 gene mutation frequency was 37.84% in rBV and the control group was 10.00%,There was a significant difference between the two group (P<0.05),The MBL gene mutation frequency in rBV group was significant higher than that in control group,The OR and 95%(CI) were 5.48(1.40-21.46).Conclusion:The low levels of MBL in vagina and the mannose-binding lectin exon I codon 54 gene hypermutation may be one of the susceptive factor in recurrent bacterial vaginosis patients.
