Application And Research Of Learning Patterns In TCM Courses Under Information Technology Support

In the gradual deepening background of higher education information, information technology has greatly changed high teaching environment and conditions. Meanwhile, various kinds of learning patterns, under the support of information technology are now providing a new thinking idea and method for higher education reform.With the universities and colleges expanisons, more and more students graduate from universities of TCM. The old learning pattern was that teachers used to train one or several apprentices, while now teachers are training students in great quantities with the quarlities that can not be fully guaranteed. Therefore, the present TCM learning pattern leads to less and less students who are truly proficient in TCM, not mentioning famous TCM doctors. TCM course is kind of a course whose theoretical and practical nature as a whole. In teaching, instructors should make the students master the solid theoretical foundations, as well as approriate operational skills. It is not suitable to the development of TCM education, if adapting the cultivating pattern that theory is prior to practice. On the whole, all these situations require the adaption of new learning pattern in TCM education for the purpose of cultivating professions of TCM medicine of high quality.The learning pattern under the support of information technology refers to the learning style that can completely construct a good environment, fully exert the learners'initiative, activity and creativity, with the help of modern information technoloy and endless information resourses it provide, on the basis of the construction of modern eductional thought, eduational theory and learning theory. Now, it has been put into use in many subjects and highlights its advantages.The paper, according to the features of various TCM courses, chooses the proper learning pattern and adapts literature analysis method and case research method to application research. At first, it introduces the features and concepts of one learnig pattern, and subsequently introduces the practical application of this pattern in TCM courses. The paper seperately presents the application examples of independent learning pattern in Chinese meridians and acupoints "Acupoints of Foot-Yangming", the application research of operational learning pattern in Diagnostics of Chinese Medicine "Traditional Chinese Medicine Tongue", the application of inquirying learning pattern in Diagnostics of Chinese Medicine "Liver internal organs dialectical" , the application of receiving learning pattern in Acupuncture moxibustion Law"Milli-needle", and the application of experiential learning pattern in Diagnostics of Chinese Medicine"Pulse".Practice proves that various learning patterns have obtained good results after the applications in TCM courses. Firstly, students increase their interests on TCM learning, and overcome their fears as to TCM learning, for example, reciting all kinds of medical history of literature and doing research about extremely difficult TCM theories; secondly, students'abilities in many aspects have improved dramatically, such as the ability of handling information technoloy, the cooperational and communicational ability with other people, the ability of solving problems indepedently, practical ability and so on; Finally, it plays a demostrating role for the teachers, who would like to attempt all kinds of learning patterns in the application of TCM courses.The full paper includes three parts. In the first part, it introduces the concept of information technology and the concept of learning pattern under the support of it. In the second part, it respectivley presents the applications of various kinds of learning patterns in TCM courses. The third part is mainly the conclusion and prospect.
