In this paper , the characteristics, distribution, chemical compositions , medicinal value and the value of food development of Phyllanthus emblical Linn have been stated, which indicates the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn have an effect on enhancing immunity, reducing blood sugar and blood fat, anti-radiation, hypoxia and other aspects, which proves it is a good material for functional foods and pharmaceutical industries. This review based on the Determination of other polysaccharide studied the method of measuring the content of the polysaccharide from the Phyllanthus emblical Linn , and compared the content of the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn in parts of Fujian .Meanwhile, the paper has also studied the application of the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn in the cultivation of the fish of oreochromis-niloticus, aiming at providing some ideas and theories in the further research of medicinal value and the development of the foods.The results of experiment are as follows:1,The paper established the method in which the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn can be measured. The amount of polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn can be determined by phenol - sulfuric acid method , the standard control materials being glucose and the detection wavelength being 490nm. The experiment optimized the concentration and the amount of phenol solution, the amount of concentrated sulfuric acid and the color of time. The results showed that the average recovery in the determination of the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn was 94.82%, and RSD 0.37%. This method is suitable for the determination of the polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn.2,The experiment has compared the content of polysaccharide from Phyllanthus emblical Linn in parts of Fujian, comparing the content of polysaccharide from different organs of the same species and the same organs of different varieties. Meanwhile, it also compares the content of polysaccharide in parts of Fujian. The results showed that: the order of of organs containing polysaccharide compounds is as follows: fruit (32.7%)> branches (3.67%)> bud (3.15%)> root (2.05%)> leaves (1.18%)> seeds (0.88 %). The content of polysaccharide from the same organs of different varieties is different. By comparing the content of polysaccharide in different areas of Fujian ,it is found that the fruit from Xiamen contains more polysaccharide.3,The blood of the fish of oreochromis-niloticus was collected from the hearts on the 10th day, the 20th day and the 30th day during the experiment and centrifuged to plasma. Observing the enzyme activities of alkaline phosphatase, acid phosphatase , total superoxide dismutase, lysozyme and catalase by spectrophotometer and chemical colorimetry methods. The purpose of the experiment was to study the effects of astragalus polysaccharideon non-specific immunity of the fish. The results showed that the enzyme activities in all experimental groups were not significantly different with the control group on the 10th day(P>0.05). The enzyme activities in group 1000 and group 1500 were much higher than the control group on the 20th day and 30thday (P<0.05).
