Objiective:To investigate preliminarily the feasibility and safety of Interstitial MR lymphography with submucous injection of omniscan for lymph node metastasis in patients with oral cancer.Methods:7 cases patients of primary oral squamous cell carcinoma(OSCC) were performed by Interstitial MR lymphography. All of the MR examinations were performed on a 3.0 GE MR. Conventional MR image scanning of the head and neck, and 3D-MR lymphography after submucous injection of omniscan were completed in the experiment. The enhancement of lymphatic vessel and lymph nodes in the affected side and the healthy side were compared by the time-signal curve. The sentinel lymph node and lymphatic vessel were traced by injected 1% methylene blue in the neck dissection. The detection rate of SLN was compared in the interstitial MR lymphography and blue dye. Results:There were not adverse reactions after Interstitial MR lymphography. The regional lymph nodes and lymphatic vessel in the healthy side were clear. Submandibular lymphatic nodes, superior deep cervical lymphatic nodes and inferior deep cervical lymphatic nodes respectively demonstrated signal peaked 10,20 and 30minutes after the injection. While lymphatic vessels in the affected side were obviously thickening. Lymph nodes were heterogeneously enhancemented or not enhancemented. The detection rate of SLN was 85.7% in the Interstitial MR lymphography and 71.3% in the blue dye. There was significant difference between the the Interstitial MR lymphography and the blue dye. Conclusion:Interstitial MR lymphography can clearly display anatomic form and function of lymph nodes and lymphatic vessel in the head and neck. Interstitial MR lymphography with submucous injection of omniscan is feasible and safe for diagnostics of lymph node metastasis in patients with oral cancer.
