Objective:To investigate the expression of p16 in refulx esophagitis and observe the clinical effect of Lian Yu Qing Jiang Soup on reflux esophagitis, and the transformation of p16 after the treatment.Method:54 cases met the diagnosis of reflux esophagitis were set as treatment group which were treated by Lian Yu Qing Jiang Soup for six months, and 10 normal cases were set as normal control group with no medication. Detect the expression of p16 protein in the lower esophagus tissue in normal control group and the treatment group before and after the treating course with immunohistochemical method. The clinical effect, the endoscopic result and the transformation of p16 of the treatment group would be evaluated.Result:Clinical observation shows that Lian Yu Qing Jiang Soup has significant effect on ameliorating clinical symptoms of reflux esophagitis:the total effective rate was 98.15%, and the total effective rate for endoscopic result was 78.57%. Immunohistochemistry results show that p16 expression in reflux esophagitis mucosa is significantly higher than that in the normal control group (P<0.01); 23 cases of reflux esophagitis reviewed after treatment, and the expression of p16 decreases greatly than before (P<0.05).Discussion:Lian Yu Qing Jiang Soup is effective on ameliorating clinical symptoms of reflux esophagitis and achieves clinical cure. It can also help to repair the esophageal mucosa injury, inhibit excessive cell proliferation, and maintain the balance between esophageal epithelial proliferation and apoptosis. It has positive significance in preventing this disease from further development to Barrett esophagus and esophageal adenocarcinoma.
