In recent years, due to the huge stress from work and life, people are in tension and anxiety for a long period. Five-colored glaucoma(Glaucoma) incidence rate showed an upward trend year by year. This disease is difficult to cure with high blinding rate. TCM has a wealth of experience to prevent and cure this disease, achieving a more satisfactory therapeutic efficacy. From the late Warring States Period to the Qing Dynasty, through 2000 years, TCM has accumulated a great deal of literature. This article describes five-colored glaucoma (glaucoma) knowledge in Traditional Chinese medicine literature.The paper consists of seven parts. The first part is the definition areas of five-colored glaucoma. Five-colored glaucoma which is used widely can be divided into five parts at different stages, "bluish glaucoma ", "green glaucoma ","dark glaucoma","black glaucoma","yellowish glaucoma". Chinese medicine will definite the phenomenon that eye balls expand and is hard, Pupils look is becoming large quickly, Pupils change color, eye-sight is unclear and decreases as symptoms of glaucoma. So " Bluish ", "Green ", " Dark","Black"", " five-colored " and " five-colored glaucoma " this papers involved is considered as the same concept as five-colored glaucoma. The sickness that IOP elevates with the cornea surrounding is full of blood, pupils look is becoming large, eye-sight is unclear and decrease hyperemia, Headache, nausea, vomiting are mainly the symptoms of glaucoma.In the second chapter, the author makes the differences between glaucoma and other diseases according to the sick characteristics, clinical performance diagnostic points and so on.Because the " Bluish ", "Green ", " Dark","Black"", " Yellowish"are the different stages of glaucoma,the author describes the respective clinical characteristics of Five-colored glaucoma from the etiology and pathogenesis, diagnosis in third chapter.The forth chapter is the discussion of the five-colored glaucoma before the Northern and Southern Dynasties. The author discusses the initial understanding of the five-colored glaucoma according to eye physiology, pathology, diagnosis, treatment and other aspects of medical theory. The medical literature of this period reflects that it is not formed an overall understanding over etiology and pathogenesis, symptoms analysis, or was quite superficial.The fifth chapter is the discussion of the five-colored glaucoma during Sui and Tang dynasties.Within this period, there was an initial understanding of the etiology and pathogenesis of green glaucoma,dark glaucoma the main symptoms and dietary treatmentThe sixth chapter is the discussion of the development of the five-colored glaucoma during Song and Yuan Dynasties. This period was the further developed theoretical and raising stage, because there was a relatively high level of productivity and Chinese ophthalmology had also been rapid developed quickly. Since it appeared a large number the books which presented a more comprehensive understanding of pathogenesis, a more specific analysis of the main symptoms, promoted the principles of the specific implementation of Differential Treatment in the governance of law and stimulated the development of the therapeutic prescription. Due to the high emphasis on medical business and prevalence of books, the prescriptions of five-colored glaucoma were more abundant.The seventh chapter is the description of the five-colored glaucoma during the Ming and Qing Dynasties. During this period, the description of the disease etiology and pathogenesis were more comprehensive, including the main symptom, healing method, the analysis of prescriptions and so on were more clearer and flexible. Especially it was more comprehensive that the etiology and pathogenesis and treatment could be got according to the different stages of cataract. The contribution of this period is not only the Differential Treatment, but also notes of the disease prognosis, medication and analysis of the reasons. The research provides Reference and guidance for Posterity.Appendix is the prescription for five-colored glaucoma, which collected the practical valued prescription of five-colored glaucoma from Song, Yuan, Ming and Qing Dynasties.By reference to these specific treatment and prescription, we have further understanding about Differential Treatment and prescription of five-colored glaucoma, seeking a result of the dialectic of traditional Chinese medicine, medical treatment and other basic principles of the present demand, with a better understanding as to our forefathers, will combine theory and practice, to better serve a modern ophthalmology.
