Investigation On Reproductive Health Status Of Peri- And Postmenopausal Women In Wuhan Suburb

Objective To investigate the reproductive health status of peri-menopausal and postmenopausal women in Wuhan suburb. To investigate the health status, health requires and the present menopausal age and to analyze influence factors of those. To bring up the scientific basis for 's health service of peri-menopausal women.Methods A anonymous questionnaire survey in household was conducted among the women aged 45 to 65 years old of four communities in Wuhan suburb. Statistic description was used to analysis the basic characteristics of peri-menopausal and postmenopausal women. Chi-square test, t test and Logistic regression mode were used to find influence factors of menopausal age.Results The average age of natural menopause of menopausal women was 47.85±3.70 years old.The average age of natural menopause of the birth age groups of 1963,1958,1953 and 1948 were 46.38 yeas old, 47.65 yeas old, 48.49 yeas old and 47.74 yeas old, respectively. The mean age at natural menopause was ahead of time 2.11 years in 1963 birth age group comparison with 1953 birth age group (P<0.01).The prevalence of Peri-menopausal symptoms was 68.4%. The most symptoms were depression incidence rate was 46.7%,irritable incidence rate was 44.2%, hot flashes, sweating incidence rate was 41.8%. Pain incidence rate were pain in lumbago which incidence rate was 32.5 %, pain in joint which incidence rate was 24.1 %, pain in leg which incidence rate was 17.5%. 10.7% of the peri-menopausal and postmenopausal women who had the symptoms was taking therapy and just 1.6% was taking HRT. Main gynecology diseases were mammary diseases prevalence rate was 12.8%, vagina inflammation prevalence rate was 12.4%, hysteromyoma prevalence rate was 10.8%, cervicitis prevalence rate was 3.8 %, ovarian tumor prevalence rate was 2.7%.The average age of natural menopause, which was positive correlation with menstrual disorders age(r=0.99, P<0.01), was negative correlation with menstrual disorder duration(r=-0.34, P<0.01), without correlation with times of pregnancy and fertility.Multiple logistic regression model indicated that smoking ( OR=7.538 , 95%CI : 1.385-41.017) and contracting cerviciti(sOR=5.654,95%CI:1.090-29.323) were risk factors.Conclusion The natural menopause age of women in Wuhan suburb has a trend of early onset, Health education and healthcare measure should be proceeding to improve their quality of life.
