Objective:The purpose of this study is to research an effective method to deal with the cleft lip nasal deformity in the comparison of the correction of nasal deformities of cleft lip with application of nasal septal cartilage and costal cartilageMethods:First, we mark a new location of the nasal tip and design a "seagull-shaped" incision in nasal vestibule and columella position and dissect bilateral alar carlilage. Second, we make a nasal stent with the septal cartilage or costal cartilage which is taken from their body. Care should be taken on adequate release of the lateral crura from its attachments to the pyriform, anatomical reconstruction of the muscle ring, anatomical reposition of the lateral crura and dome when the nasal stent is implanted. Adjust the nasal columella height, nasal tip shape and the width of the bottom and make it symmetrical with health measurement. Using the method of qualitative analysis, we have observed two groups of the patients with nasal base width symmetry, nose tip, nostril shape, nasal columella height, nasal dorsum shape and alar symmetry, and then comparedResults:there has no statistical significance in the width of the nasal base, nostril shape, the improvement in alar symmetry between the group of the cleft lip nasal deformity patients who autogenous septal cartilage was implanted and the group of the cleft lip nasal deformity patients who autogenous costal cartilage was implanted. There has statistical significance in the nasal columella height, nasal dorsum shape, nasal tip between the two groups. In 1-10 months'follow-up, all the patients had no nasal incision infection in the study. Costal cartilage group patients have no serious complications of pneumothorax and chest incision infection, induration and so on.Conclusion:The group autogenous costal cartilage was grafted to repair cleft lip nasal deformity have better results than the group autogenous septal cartilage was simply implanted in the shape of the nose. To get autogenous septal cartilage does not require a second surgical field. There have a lot of shortcomings which are not accepted by patients when you get autogenous costal cartilage, such as a big scar. So we believe that the two surgical techniques have their advantages and disadvantages. You should choose a good method according to the characteristics of the individual. We think the same result should be gotten between the group autogenous costal cartilage was grafted and the group autogenous septal cartilage. If the septal cartilage with synthetic materials can obtain the same aesthetic effect in the shape of the nose and reduce damage.
