Objective To investigate the effect of continuous blood purification (CBP) in patients with multiple organ dysfunction syndrome (MODS). Methods From Jan 2007 to Dec 2009,a total of 35 cases with MODS underwent CBP in our hospital. The clinical data was collected: (1) General conditions: sex, age and original disease; (2)The effect of CBP:observe the hemodynamics, respiratory function, the change of biochemistry, APACHEⅡscore, SOFA score before and after each session of CBP. Compare the indexes again according to the outcomes of individual patients.(3)Technique and method of CBP:modality, dosage, and vascular access of CBP, category of anticoagulant and membrane of hemofilter used in CBP. Results They were 25 males and 10 females, with an average of (51±17.34) years old (15~82, median 54). 15 cases survived. The effective rate was 42.9% , 20 cases died, the mortality was 57.1%.The APACHEⅡscores, creatinine, blood urea nitrogen(BUN) and heart rate(HR) were lower than pre-CBP after CBP(P<0.05).No significant difference was found in the mean arterial pressure(MAP)following CBP. According to the prognosis, the patients were divided into the survival group and the death group. Compared with survival group, the scores of APACHEⅡwas higher, and the MAP was lower. Conclusions CBP therapy can slow down the process of disease, improve biochemical parameter, regulate the internal environment, and be helpful to further treatment .Thus it plays a important role to multiple organs dysfunction syndrome...
