Clinical Study Of The Baofukang Suppository In Treatment Of Chronic Prostatitis/Chronic Pelvic Pain Syndrome

The research intends to pose the importance of the pathogenesis of humid heat combined with blood stasis on basis of the theory review of chronic prostatitis/chronic pelvic pain syodrome(CP/CPPS). Besides, it aims at observing the curative effect and preponderance of the herbal suppository by measure of clearing humid heat and promoting blood circulation. The whole thesis is divide into two parts.THEROY REVIEW The thesis reviewed and summarized the research progress of CP/CPPS. It illuminated the Zangfu organ ascription and physiological function of prostate, name, etiopathogenisis & pathogenisis, therapeutical principle & syndrome pattern, formula & drugs of endotherapy and external treatment, especially the herbal suppository treatment, of prostatitis in traditional Chinese medicine theory. Meanwhile, it focused on the definition, categorization, etiopathogenisis, nosogenesis, semeiology, diagnosis and therapy of prostatitis in western medicine.CLINICAL STUDY Objectives:To observe the effectiveness and safety of the herbal Baofukang suppository in treatment of CP/CPPS. Further, to explore the possible mechanisim of action and then enlarge the clinical indication of the drug. Methods:90 patients who complied with the standard were divided into the treatment group (Baofukang suppository group,60 cases) and control group(Qianlie'an suppository group,30 cases) according to the principle of random, parallel and comparison. The differences were compared between the treatment group and control group, including TCM syndrome index, NIH-CPSI and the routine indexes of prostatic fluid. At the sametime, it was retrospectively analyzed the differences of curative effect between theâ…¢a andâ…¢b cases. Results:In treatment group, the total effective rate is 88.3%. But the curative and remarkable rate is 51.7% and it has significant difference compared with the control group (P<0.05). It also has significant difference in decrease of TCM syndrome index, NIH-CPSI, pain index, syndrome influence index and life quality index (P<0.05), although there's no statistical difference in aspects of amelioration of urination (P>0.05). However, according to the retrospective analysis, it doesn't have significant difference in curative effect and decrease of NIH-CPSI between theâ…¢a andâ…¢b cases (P>0.05). Conclution:Baofukang suppository is more effective than Qianlie'an suppository and the adverse reaction of the drug is little. So it is proposed to be widely used in clinic.
