For a long time, because of its history on the subject of special experiences with the unfortunate experience of African-Americans has been to define their own identity confusion and doubts exist, especially in today's cultural pluralism of American society, African-American identity in this problems became increasingly complex and important. As a leading African-American literary figures in the tradition of Toni Morrison, Richard Wright, Ralph Ellison and other black literary predecessors, the mantle at the same time, hard to think of African Americans the way of existence .
