The German peasants war 1525 was a far-reaching historical event in Germany history, the general public participated in peasants war, drafted some programmatic documents to express their demands. Due to this cause, the article selects the peasants war as back ground to study the civic consciousness of the late medieval Germany This paper mainly describes the German public awareness in this period to explore the context of public awareness at the background of peasants war and its impact on the city and society at that time in Germany.During the war, a series of urban movement even happened in some cities, they gave the princes and the City Council a petition, writing a number of programs to express their ideology. Based on these programs and the consciousness of the representatives of the public, the article explains the ideology by elaborating the human consciousness of the civic, which includes public consciousness, the collective identity and the sense of participation, the reform-mined and the legal consciousness in order to reflect the current sense of the German people and explore the context of public awareness at the background of peasants war and its impact.The urban movement in the Middle Ages in Germany and the pubic participation in the peasants war is the result of the promotion of the public awareness and the interaction between the civic society and state, in turn, the civic awareness determined the direction of urban development, affected the situation of the society.
