The Task Switch Research On Temporal Duration Estimated Paradigm

Duration timing is the most research aspect of psychological time,probabaly because it is of great significance for human beings to survive and adapt to environments. Duration estimation is influenced by many factors, experimental paradigms are one of most important ones. That is,There are two experimental paradigms in the temporal duration estimated research, the prospective experimental paradigm and retrospective experimental paradigm. At present,domestic and foreign had some research about experiment model and task switch ,but most of them are discuss model effect alone or just study task switch in some kind of model .The research which combine the model effect with task switch research still not to see.The background of my research is prospective paradigm and retrospective paradigm which uses stroop job task and take the accuracy and the time duration estimated value as the target.This research operates goal time duration, the task difficulty and the task switch three factors,and then though the research two experiment to show the task switch process of the duration estimated paradigm, the length effect of the target duration estimation and the influence of accuracy and the time duration estimated.The following results can be made in this research :(1)Under the retrospective paradigm,the reaction time of the high switch task was significantly longer than the reaction time of the high switch task in the prospective paradigm.(2)This result validate the phenomenon which all subjects overestimated the shorter durations and underestimated the longer durations .this phenomenon is when the target duration was 6 seconds to appear the overestimation, when the target duration was 12 seconds presented the underestimation.(3)Under the prospective paradigm and the retrospective paradigm, the target duration is lower, the response accuracy is lower.Similarly, there are task-switching effect and the effect of task difficulty, that is the accuracy of the task easy group was significantly higher than the accuracy of the task difficult group; the accuracy of the task switching low group was significantly higher than the accuracy of the task switching high group. (4)Under the prospective paradigm,the subjects estimated duration longer in the easy task or low switch task. Under the retrospective paradigm,they have the opposite situation. that is the subjects estimated duration lower in the easy task or low switch task.
