Abstract: Postcolonization which has been mostly criticized and argued by contemporary Chinese art, has also been the biggest barrier of the development of it. The critics has been blaming the invasion of western culture, but blames can not push contemporary Chinese art, nor can resolve the invasion problems. So reexamine the Postcolonialism and try to find the main culprit of it is the key that can promote the development of contemporary Chinese art.Firstly,this thesis analyzes the special situation of China, the view of Edward W. Said's ORIENTALISM is not suitable for China . And then the analysis based on China's national self-confidence, missing self-identity, disconnected "local" culture, the system of art, and excessive system fault commercialization, the problem of Chinese contemporary art education and so on, reveals China which without the background of colonization in the country,why the Postcolonization in contemporary Chinese art.
