With the development of China's economy,the nation occupies a position of ever-increasing importance,and with Sino-Romanian relations growing stronger closer day by day.more and more Romanians understand the importance of learning Chinese.At present,there are several Chinese textbooks in Romania.The Romanian version of Contemporary Chinese is widely used in universities,and it is the only Romanian language textbook used in Romanian Universities.This article mainly takes the Romanian version(2010 revised edition)Chinese textbook "Contemporary Chinese(Beginner)"(edited by Wu Zhongwei,translated by Li Jiayu and Luo Dongquan)as its object of analysis,researching the translation problems that appear in the textbook and other problems related to its practical application;for instance,the actual problems encountered by Romanian students and the results of using this textbook.This paper's focal point is an analysis of the translation problems in the Romanian version of"Contemporary Chinese" through the methods of content analysis and a questionnaire survey,as well as the experience of Romanian Chinese scholars on their use of textbooks and the evaluation of "Contemporary Chinese".The study found that the Romanian version of "Contemporary Chinese" has obvious problems in translation,including the accuracy of vocabulary and sentences,the meaning and contrast of translation,the naturalness and fluency of translation semantics,and grammatical errors in translation.In addition,the results of the survey of users have also identified some deficiencies and suggestions for the improvement of the textbook"Contemporary Chinese".These findings have direct implications for the improvement of Romanian local Chinese textbooks.
