Psychoanalysis Of Female Psychology In The Novels Of Stefan Zweig And Zhecun Shi

Stefan Zweig is an Austrian famous writer known by his Psychology novels,whose works followed the principles of Psychology Realism in the 20th century. Zhecun Shi is the representatives of the 1930s Shanghai school of novels. Both of them used Psychoanalysis skillfully and worked a series of vivid female images with their attention to women. This thesis conducted a reasonable and thoroughgoing research to female psychology in the Psychology Realism novels and did the parallel comparison about female psychology from three aspects based on elaborate reading.The organization of the present paper is as follows:Foreword had a discussion about Zweig and Zhecun Shi's feature of Psychology novels and an overview of originality of this study and pointed out the method and the purpose of this study. The main body of the paper analyzed female psychology in their works from different angles.Chapter one presented the depression and contradiction of female personality in the modern society. From the Viennese women's dual character in Zweig's novels and the good women's spiritual depression in Zhecun Shi's novels, the paper analyzed Chinese and western female contradictory.Chapter two analyzed the feeling of loneliness and drifts in the changing age and expressed the behavior and reasons about the feeling of female loneliness and drift in their novels. Try to intensively analyze the differences between two writers on the cultural plat. Chapter three discussed female struggle and confusion. This paper analyzed the completion of Zweig's female eroticism and the Platonic of Zhecun Shi's female feature and the cultural content behind the eroticism in the different moral concepts.This essay used parallel comparison as its research method. According to psychoanalysis and feminism theory, it breaks through with female personality in Zweig and Zhecun Shi's features of Psychology novels. Through the discussion of the inner contradictions of "Female in Vienna" in Stefan Zweig's works and the mental characteristics of "good women" in Zhecun Shi's works, the essay shows the inner side of female characteristics in two different cultural traits which the writers represent separately. It will use Zweig and Zhecun Shi's writing as a medium to analyze the differences between Chinese and western culture profoundly. At the same time, we can feel the grand humanism ideal and humanistic care which the two writers show through their thorough portrayal of life, emotion and spirit of female in their novels.
