In order to adapt to the requirements of the development of economic globalization, the passion of studying English is upsurging in recent years. In the vocational schools, professional English courses are offered. The aim of study in this paper is to discover the status of application of the action-oriented teaching mode in nursing English vocabulary teaching of Changchun secondary vocational school, and find out a new suitable teaching mode for nursing English vocabulary teaching in our school. In this study, documentary method, questionnaire and interviews are adapted. First, the status of vocabulary studying is investigated and analyzed, the importance of vocabulary teaching is discussed, the action-oriented teaching mode is defined. Then, in accordance to the studied results, the advantages and disadvantages of the action-oriented teaching mode in the nursing English vocabulary teaching are summarized. Several suggestions are raised to guide the nursing English vocabulary teaching in this school. Discoveries are expected to be adopted by the same subject in the study.This thesis consists of five parts:The first part is to introduce mainly the question and to provides the topic background and the meaning of the research and the hypothesis.The second part is to review the importance and development history of language teaching and research and to introduces the action-oriented teaching mode.The third part is the core of this paper. Aims, methods, object of application and design of the questionnaire are introduced. The questionnaire and interviews are analyzed together in details in this part.The fourth part is suggestions about Action-oriented Teaching Mode, and these suggestions are based on the analysis in part three, in order to give reference information about vocabulary teaching.The fifth part is to make a reflection of the disadvantages of this paper, and proposes further research.
