Creative Contents And Literary Value Of Four Female Writers In The Han Dynasty

Ban Jieyu, Ban Zhao, Xu Shu and Cai Yan are very important female writers in the Han Dynasty. Their works have high position which can not be replaced in the Han Dynasty and even in the whole history of the ancient literature. They are the most distinguished ones among all the female poets in the Han Dynasty. Their works have great influence over the later generation.Ban Jieyu is the first verifiable woman in the history of Chinese literature whose anthology is still in existence verifiable, her works including "The Fan", "Mourn Myself Prose Poetry"and"Pound the Silk Prose Poetry" reflect the ladies-in-waiting's life, whose mentality is written in a forceful hand, with the circumbendibus and elegant style. And "Letters to Nephews Prose Poetry" reflects her view of literature is authentic.Ban Zhao have four poets of object still in existence verifiable, including "Cicada Prose Poetry"," Bird Prose Poetry"," Pottery Cup Prose Poetry" and" Needle and Thread Prose Poetry", which playing the role which links the preceding with the following in the development of poetics in the Han Dynasty, it reflect the transitional characteristics:from eulogize monarch's virtues and achievements to express one's thoughts and ambition.The subject of Xu Shu's works is emotion. Her "Reply to Qin Jia" is the combine of Chu Ci literatures and the Verse with Four-Character Lines, reflecting the development of the Verse with Five-Character Lines.Cai Yan's works deeply reflects the social reality of scourge of war in the End of Han Dynasty, the women's tale of misfortunes in the social unrest and their hard lives in great detail, it is of momentous current significance.
