The Study On Lai Shengchuan's Crosstalk Drama

In 1985,Performance Workshop created Chinese Comedy in the Late 20th Century.Crosstalk drama occurs in Taiwan. Based the development of Taiwan's Little Theatre movement, of Chinese Comedy in the Late 20th Century,the success is due to the comic of Crosstalk and function of the public forum. So how to activate the vitality of modern drama with the essence of traditional art, Lai Shengchuan undoubtedly give us rich inspirational experience.Explore the creation of a series of Lai's play, we can see Crosstalk drama is also experiencing the development of transmission and evolution. Thematically, the show maintained the reflections of cultural, ideological, political and social; structurely, they are filled with many small paragraphs, showing clear continuity. But the method of collective improvisation is changing. There is still a large audience are confused on Crosstalk drama and traditional Crosstalk,largely because they did not catch Crosstalk drama on the absorption and transformation of the traditional Crosstalk. We found the dialogue of Crosstalk often needs to be dramatic changes, in order to achieve the purpose of service for the drama. Finally, we analyzed the impact of Beckett on Lai Shengchuan, found that the description about survival of the modern alienation in Beckett's play has also been extended in Lai's Crosstalk drama.
