The First Exploration On The Enlightenment For Violin Playing From Tao Te Ching

Violin is the one of the indispensable instruments for people living in musical activities. For centuries, there are lots of treatises and books which talks about the violin music, playing techniques, teaching practice and psychology of performance. Some of these studies are based on the angle of actual performance, discussing about the practicing and grasping the playing techniques. The others of them are under the views which come from the Western perspective of aesthetics and the psychology to analyze issues related to violin.This thesis ponder the three largest problems as the aesthetic problem of the violin playing, the troubles of specific skills and psychological issues occurred in practical performance that following the results of these studies,drawing on philosophies and ideologies of Tao Te Ching. By using a variety of research methods that cover with the ways of liberal arts and science, this thesis plays a support of examples for the abstract research from theory to theory. Meanwhile, in the process of research, penman focus attention on the study method about two-way communication between the issues, that is not only the immediate thoughts from Tao Te Ching, but also proceeding from specific issues. Searching the truths from Tao Te Ching, we can acquire the enlightenment for the problems in three categories.Through this research, on one hand we can find a new point of view for the problems of violin playing to put forward the enlightenment and thoughts; on the other hand we can open up new research ideas and new research method for the research of musicology, accounting for a modest spur to induce people to come forward with valuable contributions that Chinese scholars know how to do a better academic research with Chinese characteristics and how to use more research methods which include the ways of liberal arts and science.
