The thesis is to study two issues from the perspective of the introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges, which are explicit level, implicit level and integrated level:1. Whether the introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges could improve students'cultural awareness? 2. Whether the introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges could better cultivate students' intercultural communicative competence?In order to study the two issues mentioned above, the author is to analyze them through empirical research on the basis of the theoretical foundations of acculturation model and constructivism. The author considers two freshmen classes of 102 students in all majoring in Logistics in Changsha Aeronautical Vocational and Technical College as experimental subjects. One class is the control group, the other is the experimental group. The control group adopts the conventional teaching approach, while the experimental group adopts the approach of cultural introduction in different levels. The author has made statistic analysis of the pre-test and post-test on cultural knowledge and oral competence to the two classes by SPSS 17.0 and come to the following conclusion:1. The introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges could improve students'cultural awareness.2. The introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges could better cultivate students'intercultural communicative competence. Besides, the researching results have still indicated that students'communicative competence will vary with the students'understanding degree on the cultural knowledge of target language. There are significant and positive correlations between students'communicative competence and students' understanding degree on the cultural knowledge of target language.The thesis is divided into five chapters excluding introduction and conclusion.Chapter one, the author has made a literature review on the relationship between language and culture, the relationship between communication and culture, the application of culture in foreign language teaching both at home and abroad.Chapter two, the author has introduced the theoretical foundations of the thesis, which are the acculturation model and the constructivism.Chapter three, the author has introduced three levels of cultural introduction into English teaching in vocational colleges, which are the explicit level, the implicit level and the integrated level.Chapter four, the author has indicated the concrete operating process of empirical research on the introduction of culture in different levels, moreover, the situation of data collection of pre-test and post-test on cultural knowledge and oral competence for the experimental group and the control group has been referred to.Chapter five, the author has discussed results of pre-test and post-test on cultural knowledge test and oral competence for the experimental group and the control group, the results have proved availability to the introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges.The introduction of culture in different levels into English teaching in vocational colleges is helpful to make vocational students participate in the English teaching classroom more positively and cultivate students' enthusiasm in learning English, it has practical meaning to promote the reform of English teaching in vocational colleges.
