During the development of Chinese classical aesthetics, it has formed a series of its own categories, and"Xing"is an important component of it. The development and evolution of"Xing"varies in different historical stages, and it shows distinctive ethnic characteristics, also it has formed an interlocking chain. Also, it has imperceptibly influenced the aesthetic creation, and the unique aesthetic forms of art with Chinese characteristics are shaped. In turn, these aesthetic art forms demonstrate the characteristic of"Xing". As for the study related to this realm, they are still of significance, because it may help the modern transformation of our country's traditional aesthetic categories."Xing"first appeared in the Oracle records, and from the research of the grapheme, it is found that"Xing"is closely related to the production of original music and dance. During Xia, Shang and Zhou Dynasty, it has become a means of artistic expression, and is seen to be used in The Book of Songs maturely, which was fixed and inherited then. Since the Han Dynasty, the prevalence of scripture decode and chanting songs was passed on, and Han Confucianism adds politics into the scripture decode, which helps the appearance of ugliness,metaphor, and leads directly to the twining of"Xing"defined,the disputation of"body and functi theory"hadn't form a conclusion. During Wei and Jin dynasties, the aesthetic emotion of human beings is valued because of the awakening of people, and then the new outlook on life and values are gradually formed. All these inspired the emotion of"Xing"to be found and paid attention to, and after that it began to have connections with the aesthetic creation of literati's thinking which makes the literati's process of creation a natural emotion of themselves. At the same time, the meaning of ugliness,"Xingji"that is on behalf of the aesthetic pursuit of the literati is carried forward. It is also the booming time of the"Xing"categories in this period. Since Ming and Qing Dynasties, with the social changes in the ideological and cultural fields and the introduction of new ideas, the traditional aesthetic categories of"Xing"get a slight sign of a breakthrough, and the evolution for people's aesthetic interest claims a new development of the classical aesthetic categories.In general, this essay contains an introduction part and a body part included. In the introduction, the research resources, related research, research methodology, creative points, etc. are listed. As for the body part, it is divided into five parts. The first part is to trace back to the character , ideology and culture of"Xing". From the oracle"Xing"to the appearance of the original dance,"Xing"is closely related to the people's original aesthetic situation"Qiqing".The development of"Xing"exhibits the mark of aesthetic creation and the early stage of aesthetic creation began to sprout. The second part intends to put emphasis on the study of aesthetic theories, and the connotation and features of"Xing"category are probed into respectively."Xing"is a category of aesthetic creation, and it takes part in the process of aesthetic creation, which would influence both the aesthetic object and subject. It is"the natural expression of subject to heart and also the integration of heart to subject", and it contains two connotations: Noun and Verb, which is of unique national characteristics. The third part is determined to study the historical development of"Xing". According to its evolution law, it is divided into three historical phases. In this part, the relationship between heart and matter & emotion and scene are studies closely. In different historical phases, people's aesthetic art shows some evidence of corresponding law. From Qin to Han Dynasty, it is a period that focuses on objectivity, much attention is paid to aesthetic objectivity, and the aesthetic creation of people began to sprout which brings"Xingxiang", a aesthetic creation of"Qiqing"and a meaningful style. From WinJin to SongYuan Dynasty, it pursues the integration of the aesthetic subject and object. The aesthetic creation began to focus on"Enthusiasm","Ganxing"becomes prevalent;"Xingji"was heeded in the literary world attention. A large number of'XingJi'works demonstrates the integration of object and subject. In the Ming and Qing dynasty, the pursuit of liberation from aesthetic subject is implemented, and the aesthetic creation makes a breakthrough. During this period, the thought of aesthetic subjects is dynamic, and the individual feelings are discovered and demonstrated, forming a new aesthetic interest and influencing the aesthetic creation at that time. The fourth part intends to study the influence of"Xing"category in the history of Chinese classical aesthetics, and explore its influence on the personality formation of the Chinese landscape literati and the aesthetic creation; In the fifth part, the modern significance of"Xing"is probed into and the value in the history of contemporary aesthetics is also explored here.
