After the 1970s, Translation Studies perceives translation study from a completely new perspective of culture, which changes the traditional translation studies only concerning the linguistic transformation and opens up a new stage for translation theories and practices. The representatives of this school are Susan Bassnett and Andre Levefere. They firstly probe into translation studies from a more comprehensive perspective of culture and profoundly interpret the relationships between translation and other subjects such as politics, history, economy and social system, etc. Their studies penetrate into many areas of culture and sociology, which offer new research field for translation theories and practices. In recent years, such "cultural turn" of translation studies becomes more and more popular.Based on the theory of "cultural turn" in translation studies, this thesis carries out a research about the regional culture influences on literature and translation. Even though Taiwan and Hong Kong shares the same mother culture with the Mainland, differences exist in the poetry translation of Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Mainland. So the influences of different regional culture on poetry translation are analyzed in this thesis.Owing to the trends of cultural integration, regional cultures should communicate with each other. Therefore, the study on similarities and differences of the poetry translation of Taiwan-Hong Kong and the Mainland is of great significance. On one hand, it could fit the needs of cultural integration. The study on Taiwan-Hong Kong's translation literature will broaden a new horizon for the study of translation literature of China. On the other hand, it is significant for the communication of translation studies of Taiwan, Hong Kong and the Mainland, which as a consequence the culture of both the Straits can be better integrated.Since the 1950s the two sides across the Taiwan Straits were separated from each other (the same as Hong Kong and the Mainland before 1997). The confrontation of political parts severely restricted the communication of literature and culture between the Mainland and Taiwan-Hong Kong. On the contrary, the culture and ideology between Taiwan and Hong Kong permeated each other and communicated frequently.Under this kind of regional cultural background, similarities in different regions exist while new features keep emerging. Analyzing the cultural and translation characteristics among different regions, the thesis tries to find out the similarities and differences between Taiwan, Hong Kong and Mainland China. The choices of poetry works, the application of different translation strategies, the aesthetic pursuit of translators and the aesthetic studies on translation versions are clearly and profoundly discussed in this thesis.
