Xuan-xue philosophy of the Wei and Jin dynasties is both the significant section and link in the history of Chinese philosophy and thought. It origined from the cosmology as well as the formation of the universe in Han dynasty, and at last developed into a mature thought domained by Cosmo-ontology, thus it conducted a epoch-making meaning during the history of Chinese philosophy. Xuan-xue philosophy of the Wei and Jin dynasties had huge influences on Buddhist philosophy in china during the later period, especially on the Kong sect of the great vehicle and the duplicate philosophy of Taoism. What's more, it had significant meaning on the coming-near Confucian school of idealist philosophy of the Song and Ming dynasties, including the school of Cheng brothers and Zhu xi. Therefore , Xuan-xue philosophy of the Wei and Jin dynasties made indeed an important role in the history of Chinese philosophy. The theories which they talked about , such as have and not, the fundamental and the incidental, the one and the many, the language and meaning ,and the Confucian ethical code and the nature, are deep and serene, and are analyzed mentally. However , the theories of Xuan-xue philosophy would never go outside of the subject of Chinese philosophy , i.e. the relationship between the nature and human beings which involves the meaningful cosmo-ontology and the human nature. These are significant and valuable theories until today, as we all admit. As the very beginning of Xuan-xue philosophy, the thought of Wang Bi was also the most systematic , abstract, integrative and typical one during this period. The method he annotated Lao Tzu and Yi Jing set a beginning on the principles of Chinese hermeneutic, which is really significant during the history of Chinese philosophy. In fact, what Wang Bi did was a bridge that connected the Classics in Two Han dynasties and Xuan-xue philosophy in Wei and Jin dynasties. What he set up , that is the method of attaching importance to the meaning of the Classics, is actually to merge the etiquette culture of Confucianism and the human nature of Taoism, thus he could set up a Xuan-xue philosophy system of the famous theory Chong Ben Xi Mo. This work not only exceeded the theories of Xiahou Xuan and He Yan, but also conducted deep influences on the later great philosopher Ji Kang and Ruan Ji. In conclusion, in the whole Xuan-xue philosophy of Wei and Jin dynasties, the research on Wang Bi is very worth doing. This paper lead a discuss on the thought of Nature and the Confucian ethical code, mainly beginning with the system of Wang Bi. The so-called Xuan-xue philosophy has a structure based on the cosmo-ontology and the thought of Lao Tzu and Zhuang Tzu, a core with the theory of have or not, a method of discussing about metaphysics and analysis of idealist philosohy , a goal of merging the problem of Confucian ethical code and the Nature, and carries out a mental analysis on metaphicis. And the theory of Wang Bi is the application of his system, basing on the problem of the fundamental and the incidental, or we can also say that it is carried out with the merging Confucianism and Taoism. That is to say , what Wang Bi did was actually to solve the problem of his time, i.e. to lead a road for the further development of Xuan-xue. So special importance should be attached to the research of Wang Bi's theory. This paper planned to locate a place of Wang Bi's theory according to a research on his Xuan-xue philosophy system and a discuss on the relationship of the fundamental and the incidental, and tried to obtain the internal value of the Xuan-xue philosophy again. At the end of this paper, I made an analysis on the relationship of the fundamental and the incidental , to dig out the prolong influences on the principle of Chinese hermeneutic and the deep meaning on the development of the Nature and Confucian ethical code theory.
