Synthetic Times ——Impacts Of Painting Materials On The Painting Subject Development

Based on the analysis of the painting materials application in the painting discipline development track, as well as the introduction of Western painting developmental history, this thesis analyzes the painting materials'impact on the development of painting subject. By introducing the painting materials'history in the painting discipline, the author attempts to clarify that, besides the concept directivity and the formal creativity, the material element is another important aspects of painting. In addition, the author gives the theoretical explanation about the painting language development which was from passive to active condition, then to interdependent and finally got the leading status. The aim, by introducing the painting materials development, is to raise people's concerns. And consciously trigger the main direction of future arts'development through the analysis of painting materials and discussion.Painting discipline occupies very important position in western art history, especially the"easel painting". In the long river of history, since 15th century, the "easel painting" occupied the world of art exclusively for more than three centuries, that period was just the time of painting materials prospect stage, and also in the latent state before the modern material arts being used widely by the artist application and then became the dominant form. Now, the outbreak of painting materials puts a tremendous impact in arts. We can buy many books about the synthetic material of contemporary art from the library, internet and bookstores, and we also can find a lot of articles and discussion about the synthetic material application in oil paintings, prints, paintings and other art forms. However, these are generally just the analysis about the application of modern materials, not the comments based on the whole history of the ups and downs. This is not a simple summary of the painting historical development, but an oriental article.
