Cross—boundary singing has been gaining the popularity in recent years which brought new elements to the field of music and manifested diversified culture in some extent. Its emergence has also raised much concern in the field of vocal music training as it's different from the traditional way based on distinct singing methods. Thus, this article aims to explore the feasibility of cross-boundary singing in the training of vocal music by suggesting some training methods which are suitable for cross-boundary singing.The main parts of the article are as follows:The first part introduces the background of the development of cross-boundary singing and its cultural implication.The second part explains the characteristics of cross-boundary singing and its significance.The third part analyses the status quo of cross-boundary singing and demonstrates the problems existing in the training of vocal music in normal universities. It also suggested some training methods suitable for cross-boundary singing.The fourth part discusses the feasibility of cross-boundary singing by using the examples of some famous vocalists.
