The Doctrine of Zhu Xi is a peak in the course of development of Confucianism. The doctrine is significant not only in its success in "Buddhism (old)" so as to reoccupy the mainstream position of Confucian doctrine, but also in its successful reshaping the Confucian paradigm. Reconstruction of this paradigm has successfully overcome the disadvantages of overemphasis on "Outside Merits " in the past and achieved the unity of " "Inner Virtues " and " Outer Merits".This article focuses on what Qian Mu has gotten from the study of the doctrine of Zhu Xi. Through investigation, in the paper, the author is of the opinion that the importance of the study of the doctrine of Zhu Xi is to put forward two bold and creative understandings for the modern study of the doctrine of Zhu Xi:first, he points out that the ontology of the doctrine of Zhu Xi is composed of three parts, namely, the view of reason and Qi, the view of spirits and humaneness. The view of reason and Qi is the foundation of ontology and the view on spirits infuses a new life into the ontology. Humaneness is both the realization of the highest level of ontology, but also an irreplaceable way of the perforation from the ontology to the theory of effort. Second,he shows that the main reflection of the level of the theory of effort of the doctrine of Zhu Xi is in its " doctrine of mind", and reveals that" the doctrine of mind " which came into being,developped and got mature by means of the academic debate with Huxiang school and Jiangxi school. It is a combination of both the criticism,negation and assimilation and accommodation of the two schools. This thesis aims to note the contribution of ZHU Xi's philosophical thought by Qianmu and its shortcomings by carding the philosophy systematically and thoroughly.It is also conducted to provide some useful and theoretical perspectives for the research and development of ZHU Xi's philosophical thought by combining the practicality of the contemporary study of the philosophy. |
