| Yu Hua, one of the writers who are actively devoted to the exploring of the survival of the human living conditions, is a representative of the trend of vanguard which rose in the mid 1980s. In the past twenty years, he has maintained a relatively strong creative energy, and could always present the literary world a new view. This article attempts to link its creation context of the development of Yu Hua's novels in different periods with its understanding of life and exploration for the consideration of the point, and strive to grasp the uniqueness Yu Hua presented in this aspect to promote the grasp of his artistic world.The paper is divided into five parts. The first part is the introduction which presents a macro grasp on the existing research of Yu Hua, considering that there are two trends from the critics. First, they emphasize that the vanguard of Yu Hua lies in the revealing of the darkness and miseries of life and the explosion of the evil of human nature. Second, it shows the corresponding grasp of the uniqueness of his artistic expressions, on the basis of which a starting point of this topic with its meaning and value are shown. This paper argues that the understanding and awareness of Yu Hua's creations should emphasize more on his understanding of life and experience of life. Only in this way can we get closer to the writer and his "hypocritical works."The second part is about "the withdrawal of tender sentiments and the approach to the "truth".
