Shih Ching, is the one and only Confucian classic which treated women as the supreme gender and recorded details of their life. This article examined the feminine raiment recorded by Shih Ching, and studied on it from three different aspects:the name, the material and the aesthetic value. The article is divided into three parts. In the first part, it classified the subjects into five categories: full dress, daily wear, headwear, ornaments and footgear. By means of referencing and analyzing relevant literatures and previous research results, the article tried to find out the names of raiment in Shih Ching, whose meaning had been long forgotten, and link them to the corresponding real items. The second part focused on the material of feminine raiment in Shih Ching. Two separate studies have been done, both on texture of materials and on colors and patterns of materials. The third part discussed the aesthetic value of feminine raiment in Shih Ching, embodies the aesthetic value of features, hair style, color of dress and jade.
