Many artcles in Shijing involves raiment names. Most of them are prepared for the aristocrats,showing a hierarchical features. The dress have deep connections with national politics, culturaletiquette,and social customs before Qin Dynasty.In this paper, In order to find there literarysignificance, I make two classifications of the raiment comcepts that appeared in Shijing.According to the material,the raiment comcepts in The Book of Songs can be categories: furproducts,textiles and jade products. According to the material quality,textile can also be divided intothree categories: linen fabrics, silk fabrics and Ge fabrics. Different levels of rank can wear the dresswhich different in the the texture of the material, clothing pattern and the color patterns, showing ahierarchical using morphology.The songs related to raiment comcepts,are often descriptions of specific ritual activities.In ZhouDynasty, nobles,either men and wowen, must wear proper etiquette dress according to the identity ofclass and ritual ceremony. In Sacrificial etiquette, there are six kinds of dress with specific crowns. Inorder to show the love of heaven, earth and ancestors, the dress often appear to be thrifty and simple.In foreign affairs and army affairs, people should wear the dress with leather hat. In the otherceremonys, for example, rites of passage or wedding, people wear the dress according to the ceremonyitself.In Shijing, each raiment comcepts has its inherent point. It plays an irreplaceable role as elaborate,or as a metaphor, or to refer to, or as a symbol in the beautiful thorns. This article start with the objectof raiment, by reproducing the appearance of their music, explore their environment behind, analyzingtheir specific contents in the meaning and their roles.
