On The Evolution And Development Of Realism In Country Novels

Country novels have been dominated a very important position in the development of modern Chinese literature in the long history. Since Lu Xun firstly defined the concept of country novel in the last century, it shows its strong vitality nearly one hundred years. The theme in this kind of novels always contact with countryside or country life which make the country novels existing the quality of Realism. And persisting the "Realism" of creative principle is the core of the country novels. This thesis chooses country novels in the new period as study objection. These three works have won the Literature Award of Mao Dun, to advocate for the purpose of the literature award of realism can be said that the eyes of rain meter in contemporary literary realism. Therefore, these three works are representatives in the realist novels to analyze the evolution of Realism in country novels. Starting from the description of the appearance of country life in the writers' works, the author wants to track the clear sprit of criticism and ultimate concern in the writers'works. Thus, to investigate the developing of realism in contemporary country novels deserves a worth meaning.In this thesis, the structure mainly divides into the introduction, main body and the conclusion. The introduction included the basis and the significance of this object. In the body part, the discussion respectively started from the interpretation of three works according to the liner time, and then analyses the spirit of rational and critical of realism in the writers'main creative position. The author also investigates the efforts in showing realistic of society in different history periods. What's more, the author tried to inquire the development and the alteration of Realism in country novels. The conclusion part is a summary of the full text, which also points out the Realism tradition will exist new landscape in the work of the future country novels.
